If you are someone that could use some tips on how to ease stress, anxiety, or unwanted feelings, Mind Matters would be the club for you. Fridays, during CDS, Mind Matters meets in the library to talk about problems that are common throughout teenage years. We plan fun activities that promote positive and uplifting emotions. Activities you could be familiar with are Wellness Week, Hello Week, and Positive Messages. During Wellness Week, students go around to different activities (including making stress balls, friendship bracelets, slime, etc.) that can help improve their well-being. Teachers will also be having their own fun Wellness Day. Hello week occurs during lunch block for 1 week, and students participate in stress relieving activities. We also like to spread positive messages throughout the school by putting sticky notes on all the lockers with nice quotes on them. This year we will be offering a presentation to parents that will talk about anxiety. Currently we are creating posters to hang around the school that promote our club. All students are welcome to join, and you can do so by coming to the Library on Friday mornings during CDS. Our upcoming meeting, November 8, will be held in the art room for making posters. If you have any questions you can ask Mrs. Storey.
