Students in the College and Career class have been buying and selling stocks since the beginning of October as part of a state wide competition.

Millbury High School has been bouncing around the top 10 schools in the state for the duration of the game.  The class is currently in 7th place out of 42 schools/classes.

The class was lucky enough to spend time at number 1 earlier in October.  Two students in the class are currently in the top 20 portfolios in the state out of the more than 700 students competing.  Joe Cook is currently 8th and Ryan Kurkiewicz is in 13th place.  Joe’s secret to his success is to buy all the stocks early in the game and let them do their thing.  Ryan has been buying and selling.  He tries to buy when they are low then sell when they go up.  He also says he has some companies including Tesla and Apple that he holds on to for the long term.  Andrew Spokis was in the top 20 but has said Hershey’s and Tyson Chicken has not been great for his portfolio financially.
