October 23, 2018 I got my first job as a teenager at the age of 17. When you first go to apply to a job for the first time your heart starts beating and you are both scared and happy. I didn’t know what to expect when I first applied. Then BOOM I get that call. I answered nice and professionally then next thing you know, I have an interview two days from that call. I’m over here scared out of my mind, but then I tell myself, “You got to be calm, all you’re doing is talking about yourself..it may be nerve racking but it is a whole new experience for me.” This experience that I have at the interview may hurt or make me happy. October 23 I go for my interview in nice white jeans, dressy shirt, and flats because they like closed toe shoes. Walk in to the back of the store sit down and wait patiently and not on my phone for the girl to come interview me. She comes, we go in her office, talk about me and the job and why I want it, and next thing you know I got the job! I start working one week after. Best experience ever. Experiencing little work before big work in the future is what I think all teenagers should do. Don’t work yourself out, I never wanted a job until I got out of high school, now i’m over here making money towards things I need and want for myself. I chose Target because I suggest a big environment to start off with to see what you like. I love talking to customers and I don’t like when the store is dead because I like to be busy and make at least just one person happy that day. I would have never imagined me loving to work, but the truth is I love to work, not even for just the money, I enjoy the surroundings and people I work for and with.
