Millbury – The marching band and color guard will be performing for the first time in front of a crowd on Friday during halftime. This year the show features music by Beyonce, and the songs that they will play during the football game will be, “Say My Name” by Destiny’s child, and “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce. They have been working hard since they started band camp, to get and practice their music and movements. Then In October their first official competition will be Saturday October 6th, at Gardner High School. The third song that they will play at Gardner will be Halo.

Last year’s season ended on a good note with the marching band getting a bronze plaque. Marching band got a total of three stars, the color guard went up in stars, after only getting two out of five stars. At finals the color guard got four stars. Last year’s show was music from the Disney movie Moana.

That’s not the only exciting thing the marching band has to look forward to, in the middle of October, hopefully before or after their second competition, the marching band and color guard will be getting brand new uniforms. The uniforms were customized and purchased last year by the previous band teacher Mr. Ferreira, before he moved to Texas. The old white and maroon uniforms will be washed then turned into pillows which can be purchased by anyone who would want one, but there is only a limited supply.

They can only hope and continue working hard as their season comes and goes that they will have another good fall season, like the previous years.
