Last year the Celtics finished the season very promising. After finishing with a 55-27 record the Celtics earned the second seed in the Eastern Conference. They drew a very solid Bucks team who took them to 7 games, where the Celtics would eventually beat them. Next were the 76ers, all the experts didn’t think the Celtics had a shot, the Celtics would win the series in an extremely impressing 5 games. The Celtics finished this unforgettable season with a sad game 7 loss to the Cavaliers in which Jayson Tatum would dunk on Lebron and lead all Celtics fans to believe a dynasty is on the way.

Starting the 2018-2019 post-season the Celtics will have Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving back and all the young guys who got the playoff experience the previous season would be ready to make a finals run this season. Although this is completely not out of the question, it is becoming harder to believe. The Celtics ultimately had a down season where almost every team in the Eastern Conference improved drastically. The Celtics finished with a 49-33 record which may not seem horrible but it earned them only the 4th seed this year which, luckily enough for them, had them draw a Victor Oladipo-less Indiana Pacers. I do believe the Celtics will win this series in 5-6 games. As I said before the Eastern Conference has only gotten better, the Milwaukee Bucks took the one seed with a 60 win season and an MVP year from All Star, Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Toronto Raptors acquired Kawhi Leonard and naturally had a great season and earned the 2 seed. The Philadelphia 76ers signed Jimmy Butler and had a similar season to the Celtics but came out ahead with the 3 seed. We were also able to see the Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets clinch the playoffs for the first time in years.

If the Celtics are able to beat the Pacers in the first round they will most likely play the Bucks in the second round. On the other side of the Eastern Conference I believe the Raptors will play the Sixers. This is where it gets tricky, I do not believe the Celtics have played to their true potential and I believe that the Celtics starting five will carry the Celtics to the finals. I do not think a single team in the NBA can win a 7 game series with the Celtics and even the Warriors have said they think the Celtics would be their hardest test. If Semi Ojeleye guards Giannis like he did last year, I think the Celtics will win this series in seven. If they move on to the Eastern Conference Semifinals I think they will draw the Toronto Raptors. The Sixers do not have a deep enough bench to keep up with the team that Toronto has and with home court advantage I think this series will end in 6 games. The Celtics will definitely have some serious trouble with the Raptors but they have already felt out how to play against them in the regular season and I think they will eventually figure it out. I do not think any team can guard Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum, and Al Horford all at once. The Celtics will take this series in 7 games and move on to play the Golden State Warriors. This series could definitely go either way. However I think the Celtics match up with the Warriors extremely well and they have always been able to beat them. Even back to the Isaiah Thomas Era I can remember the Celtics beating the Warriors. I think Brad Stevens knows how to stop them and I think this series will be a must watch, with the Celtics will take the series in 7 games. This will be the 3rd New England sports championship of the year and the first Celtics Championship since 2008.
