7th Graders Win Awards at Science and Engineering Fair

Today twelve students represented Millbury Memorial Jr/Sr High School at the Worcester Regional Science & Engineering Fair at WPI.  There were 138 projects presented at the fair from schools all over the Worcester area.  Only 40 awards were given out and 6 of our students won awards!

1st Place:  Katherine Zheng: Effect of Type of Plastic on the Absorbency of Dimethyl Sulfide

2nd Place: Emma Hoye-Flaherty: Effect of Toxic Ash on Plant Growth

3rd Place:  Lilly Bousquet: Effect of Amount of Sodium Citrate on Shape of a Blood Clot

3rd Place:  Michael Borowski: Effect of Color of Bird Feeder on Bird Interest

4th Place:  Jay Gauthier: Effect of Natural Filtering Factors on Water Purity

4th Place: Ava Lawton: Dealing with Diabetes: The Road to Developing an Artificial Pancreas

 

All of these students will now participate in the Massachusetts State Science & Engineering Fair on Saturday, May 11th, at Worcester Technical High School.
